From the data collected, it can be seen that the water in the Great Dismal Swamp is freshwater, with the conductivity usually between 0.10 mS/cm to 0.15 mS/cm. The conductivity went up the summer of 1997 because of the drought (See water table graph.). With less water in the swamp, the salts were allowed to become more concentrated, thus raising the conductivity levels (as can be seen on the conductivity graph).
